I’m a Detroit native with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Michigan. Ultimately, I’ve been designing for 10 years. I picked up the mouse back in 2008 as an eighth grader–it was love at first pixel.
I’m not your standard graphic designer; I wear a lot of hats when it comes to creativity and its tools. For design, I mainly use the 3 sisters: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. I’ve worked in multiple design roles in various environments: non-profit, academic, in-house, agency, and even freelance.
With these tools, I can cover just about any medium–small or big: flyers, logos, banners, brochures, booklets, newsletters, digital campaigns, infographics, geofilters, t-shirts, swag, etc.
In addition to static graphic design work, I’m skilled in motion graphics. Instead of just making materials “look pretty”, I can make them “look pretty and move.” Animations usually require Adobe After Effects.
Film + Animation
I have a background in theatre and in film. Not only in front of the stage/camera, but also behind the stage/camera.
From pre-production to post-production, I’m able to brainstorm storyboards, concepts, create and revise scripts, scout locations, set up filming appointments, recording and finalizing, and most importantly, post-production editing. I switch between Final Cut Pro X and After Effects when it comes to film and/or animation projects.
To complement my visual design experience, I am very knowledgeable in sound production. When it comes to film, the background sound is just as important as the visuals. My go-to for audio editing is Logic Pro X.
My right side of the brain is covered, but I’m also very affluent in internet marketing. Just to give a few examples, I run 3 e-commerce shops online and manage their social media. For e-commerce, my highest selling platform is Amazon Merch, with Etsy and Redbubble in the following respective places. I create the apparel design myself and this requires market researching, creating copy for the product points and descriptions, managing inventory, monitoring analytics, creating ad campaigns, and customer service.
Website design is a big plus for me. I can design on multiple content management systems, such as WordPress and Shopify, as well as HTML projects. With website design, I pair projects with Google Analytics, Facebook Ads + Pixel, Mailchimp, and a plethora of many more.
In short, all of my skills and experiences can be connected back to graphic design in someway. I’m a big believer of ‘if you’re not growing then you’re dying’, so not only do I need consistency and reliability, but also opportunities for growth.
